Step 3 - Prepare for data migration
It is highly recommended that you back up all the teammaster and teamprojects directories. The entire migration process will only affect the data in both directories. If the data migration fails, you can restore to the original state.
We also recommend that all files in the moldl file be checked into the ideas library, and the model file of the ideas is also deleted first.
We recommend that your old data, library, and projects are no longer needed.
We recommend that you clean up all the old data that are no longer used by ideas.
We recommend that you run %SDRC_INSTL%prlham_medic.exe on all .asm files and .prt files in teamshared. For problems with this step, please contact GTAC;

We recommend that you remove all standard parts and material libraries provided by UGS PLM Software. These should be reinstalled after the successful completion of the ideas installation.
Step 4 - Ensure that all items are accessible.
If some projects are inaccessible, the migration of these projects may fail. It is very difficult to fix the accessibility issues after the project migration begins. Here are some steps to explain how all projects are guaranteed to be controllable. .
- launch the window of ideas;
- Select each item - Solve access problems - Delete items that cannot restore access. If you get the following error, ideas can't locate or read the .pmd file. You must find the relevant .pmd according to the relevant text file. file.

Step 5 - Run the cleanup project The following cleanup operations must be run in TDM. Log in with the ideasadm account and ensure that all users have launched ideas.
- launch dmadmin
- enter "inst" (Installation Management menu)
- enter "cl" (Cleanup installation database command)
- enter "yes" (Do you wish to continue? prompt)
- respond to prompts as appropriate
- enter "clrw" (Cleanup invalid rows in installation database command)
- enter "yes" (Do you wish to continue? prompt)
- respond to prompts as appropriate
- enter "clar" (Cleanup invalid attribute rows in all projects command)
- enter "no" (Do you wish to only generate a report? prompt)
- respond to prompts as appropriate
- enter "dr" (Delete the relationships to missing model files command)
- enter "?" (to see a list of options)
- enter "2" (File option)
- enter "C: emplog.dat" (Enter Filename prompt)
Step 6 Performing Data Migration TDM data will begin to be migrated. Log in with the ideaazd account and ensure that all users have quit the ideas.
- point TDM to new I-DEAS version (for example: run TDI Wizard)
- launch dmadmin for new version of I-DEAS
- enter "mig" (Installation Migration menu)
- enter "mg" (Migrate to I-DEAS XX command)
- press enter for default (Please enter migration log file pathname prompt)
- enter "yes" (Migration will be logged in ... prompt)
- enter "yes" to continue for any project that fails migration
Note: All projects that failed to migrate must be fixed before they can be used.
