With the development of genetic breeding, the requirements for improving and protecting the nutritional value are getting higher and higher, and improving the quality of the pellet has great economic significance for the feed product. We have also seen new developments in many engineering methods, especially for auxiliary effects such as disinfection and cleaning of feeds, but unfortunately, there seems to be little emphasis on steam conditioning, and it is rarely mentioned, in some cases even completely ignored. (For example: some devices only have 5-10 seconds of conditioning time). More often than not, feed companies have tried a variety of methods and still can't find a solution to the right path.
This is the need to understand and explain steam conditioning and ripening of raw starch in a scientific way to maximize granulation efficiency and feed value. We recommend the following:
1. Use saturated steam - change your pipe to the required engineering specifications.
2. Make sure that there is the most adequate conditioning time - close to 60 seconds, which is ideal.
3. It is also important to have sufficient residence time before conditioning.
4. On the basis of satisfying the first two conditions, with the special deliquescent material to help absorb water, softening starch (especially crystalline amylose) from steam condensation and exothermic process will achieve better results.
5. Ripening amylose is very important. Increasing feed formulation costs have increased opportunities to improve nutritional value, reduce feed costs, and improve animal performance through improved processing techniques.
After a lot of research on steam conditioning for pressure setting, steam temperature and quenching and tempering time, we understand what is the best setting for producing the best nutritional value feed pellets.
Steam quenching and tempering has considerable complexity. Under the premise of correct understanding of the concept of steam quenching and tempering, many specific work adjustments such as steam temperature and pressure, diameter of conveying pipeline, pressure reducing valve and steam trap are required. At present, due to the lack of research reports on reasonable steam quenching and tempering, there are no scientific and standardized management methods in the industry. However, the cost of feed ingredients is rising, and it is very unfortunate that if the feed is poorly tempered in summer, the material cannot absorb the moisture in the steam, but it will cause loss and so on; and the temperature is not high, and the material cannot be fully matured. The loss of feed is not limited to some feeds (physical waste) that cannot be absorbed and missed by animals, but also that feed nutrients cannot be digested by animals (nutrition waste).
Granulation - the preferred method of processing feed, is the largest energy consumption project in the feed production process. The importance of feeding animals with high physical quality feed is recognized.
