Special note: In case of no water supply (cooling) at the bottom of the outboard engine, the pump impeller will be burned in one minute. It is therefore recommended that the bottom of the outboard motor must be submerged (over the pressure plate) regardless of the test machine or other operations.
Some common faults and emergency handling in outboard motor use:
Flooding cylinder
It is an artificial phenomenon that occurs mostly in carburetor engines. If the amount of gasoline in the cylinder is too large without frequently pulling the starting rope according to the actual situation, the normal igniting of the spark plug is blocked, and the phenomenon of being unable to start or knocking is generated. That is the so-called "flood tank." Solution: Remove the spark plug to wipe off the spark plug fuel, and pull the starter rope twice. If there is excess oil in the cylinder, suck it out.
Pull cylinder ?
The so-called "pull cylinder" refers to the cylinder wall is drawn into a deep groove, piston, piston ring and cylinder wall friction loss of seal, resulting in reduced cylinder compression pressure, loss of power to reduce power.
The main reasons for pull cylinders are as follows:
( 1 ) The cylinder has poor lubrication, which is generally caused by a low proportion of oil.
( 2 ) Insufficient break-in, no running-in during the run-in period.
( 4 ) Use inferior fuel oil or engine oil.
( 5 ) Foreign matter in the cylinder, such as some debris on the crankshaft.
Outboard motor can not start the reasons and exclusion:
( 1 ) Â To insert the flameout cord or the flameout cord is not inserted into place, correct insertion can be ruled out.
( 2 )  The spark plug has too much carbon deposit. Clean up the surface area of ​​the spark plug or replace the new spark plug of the same type.
( 3 ) Â Damage to the electrical components (charging coil, igniter, ignition coil) is recommended.
( 4 ) Â The oil is out of proportion, too much oil can cause it to fail to start.
Machine maintenance and storage:
Flood prevention and rescue machines are generally used as emergency, so most of them are stored for a long period of time and are temporarily used. Therefore, the following points must be noted before storage:
A: Clean waterway
After each use of an outboard engine, we had better clean the outboard engine's drainage pipe. Because the outboard engine is cooled by means of water cooling, the dirty water stays in the pipeline for too long (there is no need to wait until the next use), and impurities are deposited in the pipeline and affect the service life.
Place the outboard engine in a suitable place and pay attention to safety.
There is a suction hole on the body of a general outboard engine, generally in the lower part of the body. The easy way is to find a big bucket and fill it with clean water. Dip the lower part of the outboard motor into the water and launch the outboard engine. After a few minutes, the water will be drained.

Disconnect the oil circuit and remove the external tank connector. Let the outboard engine continue to run and exhaust the fuel in the carburetor.
Three: Check the propeller
Propeller parts often get caught in some filamentous debris. You can use a sleeve to unscrew the impeller to remove debris. Apply grease and install the impeller back. If the damage is serious, it is recommended to replace it.
