Milling tools for modern steel roughing (2)

Figure 3 Comparison of HSC-HPC metal cutting speed when milling hardness steel

Choose a smooth cutting edge or a forming cutting edge?

When using carbide end mills, the advantages of the forming tools discussed above in metal cutting are technically not available in the HPC cutting process. The short service life of cemented carbide end mills will greatly increase the cost of tool use, which will seriously question the economics of this processing method.

Accepting the fact that the machining force is large, the tool of the non-formed carbide End Mill is designed to match the geometry of the material to be processed, which seems to be an idea for HPC machining.

68HRC when the strength of a steel material having a rough machining of steel

when a higher intensity value, not have excessive mechanical loads on the respective cutting edges. In addition, when the tool is engaged with the workpiece, there is a risk of chipping on the cutting edge due to the impact force of the feed. Considering these phenomena in the use of geometrically shaped non-formed carbide end mills, a maximum negative cutting angle of γ = -10° was chosen. Using a conventional tolerance angle allows for a large wedging angle greater than 90°, which greatly balances the cutting edge of the tool. In addition, the groove helix angle is designed to be very large, up to γ = 55°, in order to correct the cutting engagement force when machining fragile hard materials under the concept of “peeling cutting”.

In Figure 3, the potential advantages of this tool's theoretical performance are shown. This is an excellent example. It also compares the HPC tool with a hardness of 54HRC and the HSC milling technology for the same material hardness grade. Performance.

Despite the higher cutting speed and, in this case, the higher HSC machining per tooth feed rate, the metal cutting speed is increased by a factor of 10 by effectively increasing the amount of knife.

HPC steel processing in the overall concept in

cutting corners / cutting grooves of three different combinations of helix angle, a method of using this technique, steel processing can cover all the range (FIG. 4), having a High-performance machining capabilities (= metal cutting speed) can be directly converted to customer benefits (= reduced production costs).

Caulking Gun

The caulking gun is a simple mechanical device that uses the principle of lever. It can be used in combination with a rubber bucket or a glue stick, and it is convenient to press the glue into the rubber bucket from the tip, which greatly saves operating time. It is a tool for bonding, sealing, caulking and gluing, widely used in architectural decoration, electronic appliances, automobiles and auto parts, ships and containers, etc.
