The main pollutants produced by ferroalloys are soot, waste, and waste water. The most important environmental impact is soot. According to the regulations, the exhaust gas can be divided into two categories: particulate matter exhaust gas and gaseous pollutant waste gas. The iron alloy plant waste gas is derived from the ore electric furnace, the refining electric furnace, the roasting rotary kiln, the multi-layer mechanical roasting furnace and the aluminum metal melting furnace. The iron alloy plant emits a large amount of exhaust gas, and has a high dust concentration. 90% of the exhaust gas is silica, and also contains chlorine gas, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and the like. The waste of chromium and waste water is the most serious pollution of chromium compounds.
The State Economic and Trade Commission, the State Environmental Protection Administration and other departments are also jointly issued the "Opinions on Accelerating the Structural Adjustment of China's Ferroalloy Industry" (National Economic and Trade Industry [1999] No. 633), from 1999 to 2005, stop building new types of Ferroalloy electric furnace (kiln) and blast furnace.
At present, the national environmental protection department is introducing relevant environmental protection rules and regulations, and eliminating backward production capacity to accelerate centralized industrial management and solve the problem of pollution control.
