US aluminum production in 2010 increased to 1,727,258 tons

Comprehensive media reported on January 17, the American Aluminum Association announced on Friday that the United States in December 2010 annual aluminum production increased by 7.1% to 1,761,667 tons, December 2009 was 1,644,549 tons. Production increased by 0.2% from the annual rate of 1,757,560 tons in November.
The Aluminum Association said that in 2010, US primary aluminum production increased by 91 tons to 1,727,258 tons, and in 2009 US aluminum production was 1,727,167 tons.
According to the association, actual production in December was 149,621 tons, up from 139,674 tons in December 2009, and also higher than the 144,457 tons in November 2010.
US aluminum production in the fourth quarter of 2010 increased to 442,409 tons from 409,470 tons in the same period last year.
Daily average aluminum production in December increased from 4,506 tons in the same period in 2009 to 4,826 tons, higher than the average daily output of 4,815 tons in November. The association also said that the average daily aluminum output in the fourth quarter of 2010 was 4,809 tons, higher than 2009. 4,451 tons in the same period of the previous year.
In 2010, the average daily aluminum output in the United States was 4,732 tons, which was the same as the 2009 level.
According to the association, the companies involved in the survey accounted for 100% of the US primary aluminum production.
