U.S. Research Report Shows Abundant Mineral Resources in Afghanistan

US scientific research report shows that Azerbaijan has reserves of 60 million tons of copper, 2.2 billion tons of iron, and 1.4 million tons of rare earths, as well as aluminum, gold, silver, zinc, lead, mercury and lithium ore with abundant reserves.

According to the US Department of Defense estimates in 2010, the total value of mineral resources in Afghanistan is about 908 billion U.S. dollars. According to estimates of the Afghan government, the total value of mineral resources in Afghanistan is about 3 trillion US dollars.
