Domestic steel barrels are mostly painted by spraying method. Therefore, when painting, the volatilization of organic solvents in spray coating production is unavoidable in the operation area and its factory buildings. The overspray coating is scattered, although ventilation and dust removal and recovery are adopted. However, it still cannot be completely removed. Scattered coatings and solvents, scattered in the air flow, are scattered around the surface of the spray booth and its surrounding material. Once an open fire is encountered, even a small fire can burn quickly and cause a fire or explosion. There are many factors that can cause fire. To effectively prevent fire and explosion, the following points should be made:
(1) Solvents in paints, which are flammable liquids, have a flash point of no higher than 28°C. The flash point is the paint particle and a large amount of volatile solvent in the air. When the temperature reaches a certain value, if there is a fire, the flash of the solvent just flashes. It is called a flash point. If the air temperature reaches or exceeds the flash point, there is no open flame and spontaneous combustion occurs when the solvent reaches a certain concentration. Therefore, it is not the reason that the concentration of volatile particles and organic solvents in the air in the operation area or factory building during the painting process is allowed to exceed the allowable concentration. Therefore, the storage temperature at the coating operation site and the coating room must not exceed 35°C. When the temperature exceeds 35°C, input cold air should be used for adjustment. High temperature heat sources must not be allowed in the paint depositing warehouse and painting operation area and nearby, so that the temperature rises excessively.
(2) The open flame in the painting area comes from the use of a match at the time of smoking, lighting by a lighter, welding torch, metal objects hitting each other, water, electrical switches, sparks, and static electricity. Electric sparks or overheating of drying equipment and equipment failure can generate open flames or sparks. The explosion protection measures shall be taken for the electrical equipment in the painting work area. The reason for this requirement is that the spark is not exposed. Paint operators are required to comply with safety procedures and painting processes, otherwise fire accidents will be inevitable.
(3) In the coating production workshop, solvents are volatilized in the air in a large amount, as well as paint powders containing or without solvents, which are mixed with air. When this flammable gas mixture reaches a certain concentration in the air, It can burn and explode in case of fire. At a certain explosion concentration, the explosion flash point is the explosion limit, also known as the lower explosion limit. The highest concentration of explosion flash points is called the upper explosion limit. If the volatile combustible gas is too little in the gas mixture, the air absorbs the heat released from the explosion point, so that the explosion heat in the explosion zone no longer spreads. At this time, only combustible gas combusts. If the combustible gas is mixed into the air and the concentration of the mixed gas is too high, the oxygen in the air will be greatly reduced. If there is not enough oxygen, it will not explode. Therefore, the concentration of the flammable gas mixture in the air is too low or too high. It will not explode, but it may burn. Therefore, during the coating process of the steel drum, the air discharge in the workshop and the paint drying furnace should be strengthened so that the concentration of the flammable gas mixture does not reach the lower explosion limit.
In recent years, in order to eliminate environmental pollution and ensure the health of operators, the relevant state departments have stipulated instructions and promote the use of water-based detergents. The degreasing agent is mainly based on non-ionic surfactants, combined with a small amount of active substances and rust-preventive substances. to make. What is more harmful is the volatile vapors and volatile matters of these substances. The inhalation by the operator is very toxic. Wear acid-resistant rubber aprons, gloves, masks, work clothes, work caps, and acid-resistant rubber whips.
A large amount of organic solvents in the coating, such as xylene, acetone, and alcohol solvents, evaporate. Inhalation is inevitable in the operating area. The paint particles that are scattered in the air will also be inhaled, and necessary personal protection will be carried out to limit the inhalation of these harmful substances to the maximum extent. This is beneficial to personal health and safe production. Therefore, personal protection must be performed during painting. Every operator should not ignore it, but shouldn't be afraid to use it without personal protection. Paints and thinners are scattered and volatilized. They harm the human body. Besides the respiratory tracts such as the lungs and lungs, they also harm the stomach and kidneys. When they are in contact with coating solvents for a long time, the skin will be cracked. There must be a dedicated drinking area in the production plant. Operation site to drink water to eat, the coating operation must be promptly bathed, keep clean and quickly relieve fatigue.
The paint warehouse and paint shop of the barrel factory are the key places for safety fire and explosion protection of course, fireworks should be strictly prohibited. Do not paint and match paints in paint warehouses, isolate and keep away from fire or heat sources, and motor vehicles are not stored or started nearby. For operators, companies should be given regular medical examinations.
