The Korea Materials Supply Agency (PPS) stated that it will increase copper, tin and lithium inventories in 2011 and it is expected that China’s economic growth will boost demand.
"As China's market expands, demand for non-ferrous metals will increase next year, but the global economy is slowing down," said the Department of Materials Supply. "We will raise the stock of these metals next year, and its prices are expected to increase significantly."
The agency said that next year will increase copper inventory to a level that can be used for 46 days of consumption, this year will be on the 42nd; tin inventory will increase from the 39 days available for consumption this year to 52 days; lithium inventory will increase from the 60-day consumption to 70 days consumption.
"In the medium and long term, we will also increase the supply of potentially unstable metal inventories," the agency said, referring to copper and tin.
