Chen Huiqing, deputy director of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, said that in the first half of this year, the volume of PV exports only slightly decreased by 0.03%, while the decline in exports, on the one hand, was due to the sharp fall in the prices of raw materials for photovoltaic products, and on the other, the European economic crisis and demand. With the shrinking effect, China's photovoltaic exports will still be severely challenged in the second half of the year.
The export of PV products in China is still dominated by the European, Asian and North American markets. However, China’s exports to the European market also fell by 37.09% year-on-year in the first half of the year, of which exports to Italy fell by 76.5% and exports to Germany dropped by 50.7%. In addition, China’s total exports to Latin America in the first half of this year reached US$149 million, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%, which was the only foreign market in China’s PV product export regions in the first half of this year.
